Aluminium Park infrastructure and civic projects reviewed

The Aluminium Park near NALCO was among the key stops during the Angul visit. Discussions centred on infrastructure requirements that need to be addressed to support the park’s development, with power and water supply identified as priorities.

Padhee also visited Angul Municipality’s Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) and reviewed the ongoing biomining project at Panchamahala. The inspections covered progress in sanitation infrastructure and the scientific management of legacy waste.

Housing project and drainage issues under scrutiny

The Additional Chief Secretary inspected the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) housing project, reviewing construction progress, drainage arrangements and basic infrastructure with OSHB officials and the District Collector.

She directed the concerned agencies to resolve pending requirements on priority to enable the early allotment and handover of flats to eligible beneficiaries.

Padhee also visited waterlogging-prone areas in Baniabahal and Lingarajodi, where she reviewed drainage-related concerns with district and municipal officials. She called for sustainable drainage interventions and effective stormwater management to improve water discharge and reduce inconvenience to residents, particularly during the monsoon.
