National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has continued to increase its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices for the third time in a row, with effect from Friday, February 19. NALCO is currently selling its aluminium ingot at INR 179,850 – 183,350 per tonne compared to INR 174,450 - 177,950 per tonne on February 13. This reflects a surge of INR 5,400 per tonne or 3.1 per cent.

NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 183,350 – 187,700 per tonne, also up by INR 5,400 per tonne from INR 177,950 - 182,300 per tonne a week ago. Aluminium billets price is hovering around INR 183300 – 185950 per tonne in comparison with INR 177,900 - 180,550 per tonne on February 13.
NALCO, like any other Indian aluminium producers, links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which since February 12 increased to reach at US$ 2,147 per tonne, as of February 18. On a year-on-year basis, the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange are currently up by US$ 466 per tonne.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
