Lundgaard to head Sapa Building Systems

Svein Tore Holsether, Sapa’s President & CEO, has led Sapa Building Systems on an interim basis for the past five months. He will hand over responsibility for the business area to Lundgaard, who joins Sapa after having spent more than 10 years in management positions for the Finland-based stainless steel group Outokumpu.
Lundgaard’s most recent position has been senior vice president and head of Outokumpu’s Southern Region, where he led some 700 employees on four continents. In addition, his background covers extensive work in sales and customer interaction.
“He has leadership, industry and international experience,” says Holsether. “He also has been selling value-adding products for many years, which is what we do in the aluminium systems business. We are very pleased that Karsten Lundgaard is joining Sapa.”
Lundgaard has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and an Executive MBA from Denmark’s Århus University. He has worked for the European companies Avesta Sheffield and Chem-Trend, in addition to Outukumpu.
