LME aluminium price edged nearly 1% higher to US$2153.50/t; SHFE price rose to US$2598/t

Three-month LME aluminium gained 1.83 per cent to settle at US$ 2,175 per tonne on Monday, with open interest adding 4,910 lots to 694,000 lots.

LME aluminium price edged nearly 1% higher to US$2153.50/t

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price grew by US$ 18.50 per tonne on Monday, February 22 to reach at US$ 2153.50 per tonne, following a decline from US$ 2147 per tonne to US$ 2135 per tonne on Friday, February 19. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price rebounded to US$ 2161.50 per tonne from US$ 2150.50 per tonne on Friday. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price hovered around US$ 2211 per tonne, up by US$ 11.50 per tonne from the previous day.

The LME aluminium opening stock decreased from 1354150 tonnes to 1349150 tonnes on February 22. Live Warrants totalled 1128100 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 221050 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price rose to US$ 2159.43 per tonne on Monday from US$ 2144.01 per tonne on Friday.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE continued to rise to stand at US$ 2598 per tonne on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

The most-liquid SHFE 2104 aluminium contract added 0.6 per cent to close at RMB 16,790 per tonne in overnight trading, with open interest decreasing 1,428 lots to 212,000 lots.
