LME aluminium price descends by 1.66% to US$3,014/t; SHFE price drops by US$215

LME aluminium opened at US$3,093.5 per tonne on Thursday morning and closed at US$2,903 per tonne, down US$194 per tonne or 6.26 percent.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price decreased by US$51.5 or by 1.68 percent to settle at US$3,013 per tonne. LME aluminium official settlement price also moved down by US$51 or by 1.66 percent to score at US$3,014 per tonne. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price closed at US$3,023 per tonne and US$3,023.50 per tonne. December 22 bid price totalled at US$2,903 per tonne and the offer price for the same day settled at US$2,908 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock for October 21 stood at 1092600 tonnes. Live warrants for the same day closed at 625050 tonnes and cancelled warrants were recorded at 467550 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price for Thursday, October 21, totalled at US$3043.43 per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

On Thursday, October 21, benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased by US$215 to settle at US$3,438 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2112 aluminium closed down RMB 540 per tonne to RMB 22910 per tonne, with open interest up 4112 lots to 226237 lots.

Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2112 aluminium contract opened at RMB 22,600 per tonne, with the lowest price at RMB 21,550 per tonne before closing at RMB 21,920 per tonne, down RMB 990 per tonne or 4.32 percent.
