European Aluminium Foil Association's (EAFA) Roller Group, at this year's EAFA Autumn Conference held in Paris, have announced the election of new leadership. EAFA mainly focuses on trade associations, representing the companies that are highly engaged in rewinding and rolling of aluminium foil and manufacturers who deal in demi-rigid aluminium foil containers in Europe.

Assan Alüminyum's Göksal Güngör has been selected as EAFA's Roller Group's new chair, who has succeeded the position from Laminazione Sottile's Bruno Rea, who first took over the position back in June 2017. As for the new vice chair, Carcano Antonio's Nicoletta Rigamonti has been elected by the firm.
Göksal Güngör served as the General Manager of Assan Alüminyum, which is deemed to be one of Europe's leading manufacturers of aluminium flat-rolled products. Within the aluminium industry, he has brought about extensive international experience, demonstrating high-level business operational skills.

His major expertise in the sustainable production, development of international market strategy and energy efficiency is highly valued across the globe and is deemed to share the same within the operations and development of the EAFA Roller Group.
Göksal Güngör, after his election, has stated, "I would like to thank Bruno Rea on behalf of the entire Roller Group for his longstanding commitment and strong leadership. I look forward to building on this solid foundation and working with the members of the Roller Group to create new momentum for efficiency, competitiveness and circularity. Aluminium foil plays a vital role in sustainable packaging and energy solutions in Europe and we will continue to strengthen and advance its importance."
Soon after his election, he owed his success to the ex. Chair of EAFA, Bruno Rea, for excellence and continued support to the group. During Rea's chairmanship, the company had expanded its role in enhancing industry cohesion and promoting collaboration within the EAFA, especially during the most challenging times concerning geopolitical and economic issues.
That being said, the firm, with this election, is looking forward to a fresh momentum and continuity for more positive development in the future for the European aluminium foil industry. Concerning the aluminium foil, it is expected to remain dynamic and is expected to have strong demand to uphold a sustainable packaging solution which can be recycled.
