Kobe Steel aluminum forging plant begins production in China

A joint venture of Kobe Steel, Mitsui & Co. and Toyota Tsusho Corp., KAAP China produces aluminum forgings for automotive suspensions in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.
KAAP China is currently undertaking a second-phase expansion. When construction is completed in March, production capacity is anticipated to double.
First-phase construction required an investment of 2.5 billion yen ($31.5 million). The second phase will come to 4.5 billion yen.
