
Aluminium ingot production in Iran rose 65 per cent to 364,783 tonnes during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2020 – January 19, 2021) compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the tenth month of the year ending on January 19, 2021, aluminium ingot output in Iran came in at 39,560 tonnes, up by 58 per cent year-on-year.

By the end of the current Iranian calendar year, aluminium ingot production in Iran is estimated to record an increase of 63 per cent.
Iran’s aluminium ingot production in the past Iranian calendar year ended on March 19, 2020, fell 8 per cent from the preceding year. Major aluminium producers produced 275,716 tonnes of aluminium ingots in the same year, according to the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry data. Among the country’s top producers, Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO) had the best performance registering a 4 per cent rise during the said period.
The official has put the value of the Iranian mining industry’s production at about $22 billion, saying the country is self-sufficient and a great deal is exported every year. The official also estimates that with the commencement of Iran’s biggest aluminium production complex ((in the central Fars province), the country will climb four ranks to emerge as the world’s 14th largest aluminium producer.
Iran plans to reach the annual production of 1.5 million tonnes of aluminium ingot by the Iranian calendar year March 2025 - March 2026.
