
India imported a total of 199,000 tonnes of aluminium (crude metal and alloys, aluminium semi-finished products and scrap) from the US in the first eleven months of 2018, a 173.73% growth or 126300 tonnes from 72,700 in the first eleven months of 2017, as updated by US Census Bureau.

{alcircleadd}Total aluminium imports by India came in at 30,200 tonnes in November 2018, marking a jump of 300.53% or 22660 tonnes from 7,540 tonnes in November 2017. Crude metal and alloys, aluminium semi-finished products (plates, sheets, bars, etc.) and scrap imports in November increased by 17% from October total of 25,800 tonnes.

Semi-finished products imports totalled 4,020 tonnes during nine-month period. This indicates a jump 240.68% or 2840 tonnes year-on-year. Exports in November stood at 170 tonnes. This was up 33.86% year-on-year, but down 45.69% month-on-month.
Imports of aluminium scrap stood at 194,000 tonnes during January- November 2018, up 171.71% from 71,400 tonnes during January- November 2017.The country imported 30,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the US in November, up 305.95% year on year. On month on month comparison, total imports volume increased 17.65% from the October volume of 25,500 tonnes.
Crude metal and alloys imports totalled 277 tonnes in the first eleven months of 2018, an increase of 96.45% year-on-year.
