Indian government seeks status report on MoUs from IPICOL
The projects of Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL), Aditya Alumina, RSB Metaltech, ASO Cement, Ultra Tech Cement, OCL India, Shiva Cement, RSB Transmission, Amtek Metal and Mining and Titanium Products are set to go under scrutiny.
VAL, which signed MoU with the State Government in June 2003, has an alumina refinery of one million ton per annum (mtpa) capacity at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district. The plant was shut down on December 5 last year due to non-availability of bauxite.
The MoU of Aditya Aluminium has also expired since April 2012. The company proposed to set up one mtpa alumina refinery at Rayagada and 0.26 mtpa smelting facility at Jharsuguda.
