Indian Cash Prices saw a 1.8 percent increase

On Aug. 24, 2012, the day’s biggest mover on our aluminum price index was the cash price of primary aluminum, which saw a 1.8 percent increase on the LME to $1,861 per metric ton. After a 1.1 percent increase, the 3-month price of aluminum finished the day on the LME at $1,888 per metric ton.
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum finished the market day up 0.9 percent.
Most Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day, while billet moved.
Chinese aluminum billet finished the day up 0.3 percent. The Chinese aluminum cash price flattened above $2,400 after two days of improvement.
The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering around $2,000 per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese aluminum bar was unchanged, holding north of $2,200 per metric ton.
