
Indonesia's state-owned aluminium producer PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) has produced 215,192 tonnes and 3,625 tonnes of aluminium ingots and billet and alloy respectively in 2017, according to news reported by ANTARA news. The company has produced 73,315 tonnes of aluminium ingots and 5,372 tons of billet and alloy in the first four months of 2018.

The company has registered a net profit of Rp1.5 trillion in 2017."Of course, it is quite encouraging. We hope it will increase in the future," said Oggy Achmad Kosasih, PT Inalum Business Development Director.
In 2017, the company’s aluminium ingot sale reached 205,980 tonnes and billet and alloy sale reached 1,296 tonnes.During January-April 2018, aluminium ingot sale stood at 58,661 tonnes and billet and alloy sale stood at 3,706 tonnes.
Inalum aims to double its aluminium production capacity to 500,000 tonnes per annum by 2020 and to one million tonnes by 2025. The company further intends to take control of its supply chain thereby reducing dependence on imports of alumina. The projects in pipeline may cost the around US$3.5 billion.
