Henkel Adhesive Technologies, the world's number one producer in adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, at METPACK 2026, will showcase its latest innovations for efficient, safe and sustainable metal packaging. In the event, the firm will be showing its digital equipment and service concepts designed to boost line performance, with that of new sealants specifically crafted for beverage and food cans. Additionally, the firm will present technologies that emphasise resource-efficient surface treatment.
{alcircleadd}The trade fair will take place at stand 1C38 in Hall 1, where the firm will show how metal packaging manufacturers can cut down on CO₂ emissions during production, with assured product quality and boost their output.
Aiding in maximum transparency and performance
The spotlight of the firm’s booth during the trade fair will be the new Bonderite E-CO equipment lineup. This is because the smart process controls the system for the can manufacturing pre-treatment stage, which is deemed to offer real-time data and automated reports, making it easier to manage and optimise processes with precision.
This results in notable improvements in line stability, even during peak production times. Moreover, with cutting-edge controllers, modular retrofit options and enhanced remote services, Henkel is dedicated to helping its customers create production processes that are more transparent, robust, and efficient.
Additionally, with the introduction of a new CanLine audit application, the firm is planning to empower can makers to achieve continuous improvement, speedy failure detection and incorporate preventive measures.

All about the new can sealants
The firm is introducing the next generation of water-based sealants for beer and beverage cans with its innovative Darex WBC 4020. This groundbreaking can sealant will support the application properties and will be available across various regions.
It comes with a single, global formulation and is produced locally using the same latex backbone and equivalent, locally sourced materials to ensure consistent performance while minimising supply chain risks.
Besides this, the firm will be launching its Darex WBC 833, a budget-friendly, water-based food can sealant, promising to enhance productivity without compromising on application quality. Its high total solids provide impressive lining performance and reliable resistance to aqueous, acidic and oily/fatty environments, resulting in a top-notch, water-based solution that balances improved yield with consistent lining quality for today’s demanding food can needs.
The firm is dedicated to delivering safe and future-ready can sealants, which is evident in their new generation of Darex COV sealants that are free from phthalate-based plasticisers, helping to cut down on energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Moreover, the Darex WBC 9000-63-2 exemplifies this commitment, as it contains no intentionally added allergens, alleviating allergen-labelling concerns for brand owners while still maintaining the proven specifications and output quality of its predecessor.

Enhanced surface treatment
Concerning the surface treatment, the firm is representing how the can production can cut down on energy, water and chemical use without sacrificing quality or process stability. This is evident in their Bonderite L-FM 831, a high-performance, biostable, water-based lubricant and steel coolant designed to minimise tool wear and wicking, while also making cleaning or rinse-only applications easier, leading to lower water and energy consumption.
Another outstanding illustration will be the low-temperature cleaner from the Bonderite C-IC 72000 series, which has just launched globally, with APAC being the latest region to adopt it. This cleaner operates at just 43 °C, compared to the typical 60 to 70 °C, allowing can manufacturers to significantly reduce energy use and CO₂ emissions.
Since excessive frothing can lead to unstable rinsing, increased water usage and unexpected production halts, the series’ unique low-foam profile provides a significant benefit. By lowering the foam formation, the Bonderite C-IC 72000 and C-IC 62600 series shall maintain continuous washer operation, stabilise rinsing processes, and cut down on both water usage and the maintenance usually needed to handle this common issue in can washing.
At stand 1C38 in Hall 1 of the trade fair, the firm will illustrate how efficient production, high-quality packaging and sustainability can work together seamlessly. Plus, Henkel experts Valentina DeCurtis and Glenn Ladrillo will lead a “Talk in a Can” session, celebrating the 150 years of the firm and its extensive experience in can manufacturing.
