Harley Davidson once again grabs the attention of all the bike lovers out there by unleashing its new FXDR performance cruiser. But this time, Harley shows a stunt with unimaginable light weight features. Hence, the new, street-fight style two-wheeler does not just boast Harley’s latest torquey Big Twin engine but win the show with an updated, lighter version of new Softail frame that gives it the best handling of any Harley Softail.

To slim down the chassis, Harley has used lighter, aluminium swingram, which beats over 4.6kg unsprung weight. The forged aluminium, 19in front wheel used in the new range further reduces the weight due to its super-skinny spokes. The seat base and sub frame are also made of aluminium tubing, saving over 3kg on the steel subframe of a standard Softail. The tail unit and mudguards are made of composite.
The engine is thankfully, not put on a diet. It uses the bigger, 114 (1870cc) version of the Milwaukee-Eight V-twin, introduced two years ago.
To further infuse sporty look, Harley has fitted Showa Dual Bending Valve USD forks as well as a set of clip-on handlebars.
Commenting on the brand new production, David Latz, Harley-Davidson Lead Product Manager said: "This motorcycle is really a blast to ride. The FXDR 114 surrounds the very capable Softail chassis with Milwaukee-Eight 114 power, premium front and rear suspension and a host of new weight-saving components and materials. This is a power cruiser that delivers exceptional ride and handling characteristics."
Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Styling and Design added: "The look of the FXDR 114 expresses its performance potential and highlights the technical features that set it apart from the rest of the Softail line-up.
There’s no word from Harley on pricing yet.
