According to reports, the Government of India informed the state of Andhra Pradesh that it has no involvement in the international arbitration brought by the Ras-Al-Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) over the cancellation of a Bauxite supply deal between Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APDMC) and ANRAK Aluminium Limited.

The Centre, which is also a party in the arbitration petition, is said to have chastised the State administration for withdrawing the arrangement without alerting the Centre while the matter is being heard in a London court.
Based on a MoU signed with the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) for bauxite mining, Ras Al-Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) and the Penna Group collaborated to build an alumina refinery in Makavarapalem in the Visakhapatnam Agency region. However, the deal was terminated as the State government decided to ban mining in Agency areas. RAKIA sought reparation through international arbitration.
According to sources in the Mining Department, despite the fact that the AP Government stated that it had no objections to the aluminium plant operating in the Vizag agency area by obtaining the required bauxite from Odisha or another location outside the state, there has been no progress on the proposal.
