AMAG: A true winner

AMAG stands out as a top-notch Austrian producer of premium cast and rolled aluminium products, serving a wide range of industries like aerospace, automotive, sporting goods, lighting, mechanical engineering, construction and packaging.

With a 20 per cent stake in the Canadian smelting company Alouette, AMAG plays a key role in producing primary aluminium, boasting an impressive life cycle assessment. Additionally, the AMAG Components division, located in Übersee am Chiemsee, taps into a wealth of expertise to create ready-to-install metal components specifically for the aerospace sector.

EcoVadis' assessment

EcoVadis examines companies based on globally recognised standards in four main areas, including environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. AMAG has really stood out, especially with its closed-loop recycling initiatives that enhance material circularity and boost resource efficiency.

Following its decarbonisation roadmap, the company aims for CO₂ neutrality at its Ranshofen site by the middle of the century. Additionally, with an average scrap utilisation rate of 70 to 80 per cent, AMAG is consistently setting industry-leading benchmarks in sustainable aluminium production.

Dr. Helmut Kaufmann, CEO and COO of AMAG Austria Metall AG., states, “The fourth consecutive EcoVadis Platinum award confirms that AMAG consistently meets the underlying international standards and regards sustainability as an integral part of its corporate strategy. This underscores that our customers and partners can rely on AMAG as a responsible and transparent supplier."
