
A project for replacement of gas cleaning equipment of a sintering shop has been launched at Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, an enterprise of The Eurasian Resources Group (ERG). The project with an investment of 200 million euro will be completed in phases, a company statement confirmed. Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC is the only enterprise in Kazakhstan to produce alumina. It operates the Pavlodar Alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1.4 million tonnes.

According to the statement, electrofilter reconstruction project was launched at the Pavlodar Alumina Refinery. The project was launched as an important step towards safety and sustainability in alumina and aluminium production. According to the head of the department of environmental protection Rinat Sarlybayev, this is a modern technological upgrade in the field of waste cleaning.
Pavlodar Alumina Refinery has collaborated with ThyssenKrupp Company for a large-scale environmental modernization of the plants.
The project is a part of ERG group’s strategy for reduction of air emission in their facilities. The group aims to reduce solid and gas emissions at the ERG plants to match the European Union standards on air quality, the statement reads.
