Emilio Braghi to assume his new role as the COO of Novelis

Novelis, the leading sustainable aluminium solutions provider and a global icon in aluminium recycling and rolling, has appointed Emilio Braghi as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting directly to the President and CEO, Steve Fisher, Braghi would be taking up his new responsibilities immediately.

Having joined the organisation as a sales manager in 1999, Braghi has held many leadership roles, including Europe, Asia and North America. In his new role, he would work on operational performance optimisation and advancing best practices in safety, quality, and reliability, while continuing as the President of Novelis Europe, based in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

Commenting on Braghi’s expertise in the field with over 25 years of experience, Fisher observed, "Emilio's deep operational expertise and global leadership experience make him uniquely qualified to drive performance improvements across our business," and added, "I am confident he will help us reach new levels of operational excellence and strengthen Novelis' position as a supplier of choice in the aluminium industry. I look forward to partnering with Emilio to ensure we deliver on our operations agenda."

Braghi expressed his gratitude towards Fisher on his social media handle and said, “I am grateful to Steve Fisher for his trust and partnership as we continue driving performance, strengthening our operations, and positioning Novelis as the partner of choice in our industry.”

Keen to assume the new role, he stated, "Together, we can build on Novelis' strong foundation to deliver world-class operational performance, advance our safety and quality standards, and create even greater value for our customers and stakeholders."

Braghi carried out several senior general management roles, such as leading Novelis’ operations in Italy. In 2012, he joined the Asia leadership team as the Vice President of Operations and later took on added responsibility for commercial functions. He was also the Vice President of Operations for North America before being appointed President of Novelis Europe in 2016.
