
Austria is the 31st largest export economy in the world. The country exported US$152.2 billion worth of goods in 2016. The country’s exports of aluminium scrap, a significant resource to be used as raw material to produce secondary aluminium and subsequently new aluminium products, represent 1.3% to the total exports.

According to the recent estimate, in 2015, Austria exported 185438 tonnes of aluminium scrap globally. The total revenue from the export stood at US$ 258.84 million. In 2016, the country exported an estimated 165309 tonnes of aluminium scrap. The total revenue from the export was US$ 195 million.

The aluminium scrap export by Austria is estimated to increase in 2017. The country is estimated to export around 172383 tonnes of aluminium scrap and the revenue from export is estimated to be about US$ 196 million.

The top importing countries of aluminium scrap are France, Germany, Italy, Czech Rep., Poland and Romania.
