The Dorchester, England-based aluminium products manufacturer that was founded more than 50 years ago, has been reported sold out for an undisclosed amount. The aluminium products-making company located on Poundbury Road is acquired by Shaftesbury-based Darren Taylor Holdings.

Founded in 1971, Dorset Aluminium provides in-house manufacturing, metal spinning, and finishing services. The company currently employs 30 people. In the midst of the pandemic, Dorset supplied essential components required in the Covid testing machines.
With an annual turnover of around £1.5 million, it was previously owned by Tim Perry, who retired in 2007 and Noel Hope. However, Hope will remain in the business as managing director.
According to Darren Taylor Holdings, there will be no change to the running of the business, which also owns metal fabrication and welding company Aftech Engineering in Swindon.
Taylor said: “I am very pleased to have negotiated a successful deal with Tim and Noel. Dorset Aluminium Products is a solid, successful engineering business that fits nicely with our other engineering firm, Aftech Engineering. I am impressed with the business Tim and Noel have built and am pleased to be part of its future.”
Hope said “The acquisition was a new chapter for the company. It was a pleasure working with Tim for so many years. I am proud of the company we built, the staff we employ and the products we produce.
"As a team, we worked hard during Covid to keep supplying the parts needed for the Covid testing machine. We are looking forward to building a bigger and better company with Darren on board.”
