The Danish design furniture brand Reframed is quickly becoming the go-to bedroom furniture shop, although only being founded in 2021. The furniture manufacturer has eliminated bulky bed frames in favour of uncomplicated, simple-to-assemble items made of sustainable materials. Its designs feature a simple, clean look anchored in pure practicality.

The company has just introduced their well-liked Reframed Bed in anodized aluminium. Tim Rundle, a designer with Reframed, created a new piece to showcase the material's beauty in its unprocessed state. They created a design using aluminium, almost entirely made from post-consumer trash, in collaboration with the metal production business Hydro.
Rundle said, “Our new finish celebrates the linear texture of the fine lines formed on the profiles' surfaces by the die that the aluminium is forced through to create the shapes we need. As the texture comes from the extrusion process, it feels like the most raw and honest finish we could use”.
"The brand wanted to showcase the process to its buyer in keeping this texture. It also means that they skip a step in which lines are etched away, and the final process requires 95 per cent less energy than traditional aluminium.”
