
The imports of bauxite by Czech Republic have been fluctuating for the last three years. Bauxite imports in 2017 were 29282 tonnes, 43% less than 51577 tonnes in 2016. The country’s total bauxite import in 2018 is expected to reach 31514 tonnes, registering a growth of 8 per cent from 2017.

{alcircleadd}According to recent estimates, in the first quarter of 2018, Czech Republic’s bauxite import reached an estimated total of 8,061 tonnes. The value of import stood at USD 1.3 million in the mentioned period. Bauxite import by the country declined 6.5 per cent to 7,536 tonnes in the second quarter of 2018. Czech Republic imported USD 1.2 million worth of bauxite in Q2 2018.


The country’s bauxite import increased in the third quarter of 2018.The estimated bauxite imported reached 7,771 tonnes and the value of import stood at USD 1.2 million in the third quarter of this year. In the fourth quarter of 2018, Czech Republic is estimated to import about 6,756 tonnes of bauxite, down 13 per cent from previous quarter. The value of import is projected to decline to USD 1.1 million by the end of fourth quarter of 2018.
The major countries from where Czech Republic has been importing bauxite include Turkey, Montenegro, Greece, Germany, China and Belgium.
