Construction starts on Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium in Montreal

The City of Montreal launched construction Thursday of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, a $46 million project at Olympic Park.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Olympic Park and with financial support from the city, the Province of Quebec, Canada Economic Development and aluminum firm Rio Tinto Alcan.
The venue, scheduled to open in 2013, will include a multimedia theatre, an astronomy theatre and an exhibition space.
