
Primary aluminium input costs, right from alumina to aluminium fluoride, have resumed the market after a week-long National Day Holiday with steep growth across China on Friday, October 8, found the Shanghai Metals Market. According to SMM data, the average alumina spot price has increased by RMB 64 per tonne to stand at RMB 3,884 per tonne.

In Shanxi and Shandong, alumina price has climbed by RMB 100 per tonne and RMB 75 per tonne to peg at RMB 3,900 per tonne and RMB 3,875 per tonne, respectively. In Henan, the price has grown by RMB 50 per tonne to come in at RMB 3,900 per tonne.
Prebaked anode price in the east has jumped by RMB 390 per tonne to settle at RMB 5,620 per tonne on October 8, with average prices expected to range between RMB 5,040 per tonne and RMB 6,200 per tonne.

In Central, Northwest, and Southwest China, the prebaked anode price has hiked by RMB 380 per tonne to close at RMB 5,265 per tonne, RMB 5,565 per tonne, and RMB 5,440 per tonne, respectively.
Aluminium fluoride price has recorded an increase of RMB 200 per tonne to clock in at RMB 9,500 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between 9,000 per tonne and RMB 10,000 per tonne.
But despite the growth in input costs, the A00 aluminium ingot price has remained restrained at RMB 22,630 per tonne as of October 8. However, the spot contract is likely to be traded higher by RMB 20 per tonne at RMB 100-60 per tonne, learned SMM.
A few cities in China, on the other hand, have seen a hike in primary aluminium prices, while some have witnessed decline. In Linyi and Gongyi, A00 aluminium ingot price has gained RMB 40 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne, respectively, to stand at RMB 22,620 per tonne and RMB 22,480 per tonne.
In Foshan and Chongqing, primary aluminium price has dropped by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 22,640 per tonne and RMB 22,590 per tonne, while the price in Wuxi has inched down by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 22,620 per tonne.
