China’s aluminum semis exports grow less than expected to 280,000 tonnes in June

Outbound shipments rose only 2.9% from a year ago to 280,000 tonnes.
Overseas buyers continued to push for lower prices, squeezing Chinese producer margins. Besides, many processors preferred to maintain stable domestic sales as a hedge against interruptions in exports. Both factors constrained the growth in export volumes, SMM understood.
