China’s A00 aluminium ingot price subsides by RMB270/t and alumina price plunges RMB4/t

The Shanghai Metal Market has recorded a decline of RMB 270 per tonne in the aluminium spot price, finally settling down at RMB 18,090 per tonne today, May 24. The average aluminium price trends are between RMB 18,070 per tonne and RMB 18,110 per tonne. The premium prices have ranged around RMB 160 or 120 per tonne.

The eight provinces in China have marked de-escalating prices today, with the aluminium price falling the highest in places like Gongyi, Foshan, Wuxi and Hangzhou by RMB 270 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 17,940 per tonne, RMB 18,050 per tonne, and RMB 18,080 per tonne in the last two areas. In Shenyang, the aluminium price has shed RMB 255 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,145 per tonne, while in Linyi, the aluminium price has plunged by RMB 220 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,140 per tonne. The aluminium price in Tianjin has dived by RMB 170 per tonne, settling down at RMB 18,170 per tonne. In Chongqing, the aluminium price has decreased by RMB 30 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,360 per tonne.  

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has slumped by RMB 293 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,632 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have plummeted by RMB 100 per tonne to stop at RMB 25,800 per tonne and RMB 26,800 per tonne, respectively.

The average alumina spot price in China has dropped by RMB 4 per tonne, closing at RMB 2,863 per tonne, while the alumina price in Shandong, Henan and Shanxi all lost RMB 5 per tonne, resting at RMB 2,870 per tonne, RMB 2,930 per tonne and RMB 2,860 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has plummeted by RMB 300 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,900 per tonne, and the price of aluminium alloy (A360) has recorded a fall of RMB 250 per tonne, resting at RMB 19,200 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has dipped RMB 100 per tonne, halting at RMB 18,500 per tonne.

The aluminium powder price in China has slumped by RMB 0.30 per kg, stopping at RMB 19.90 per kg, with the average prices hovering between RMB 19.80 per kg and RMB 20 per kg.
