China’s A00 aluminium ingot price shoots up by RMB140/t to RMB19860/t; Aluminium alloy (A356) price escalates by RMB150/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has heightened by RMB 140 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,860 per tonne on Tuesday, June 21, following two consecutive declines from RMB 20,160 per tonne to RMB 19,720 per tonne, found the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM). The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 19,840 per tonne and RMB 19,880 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at a premium price of RMB 0-40 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price has seen the highest rise in Hangzhou by RMB 150 per tonne, closing at RMB 19,910 for the day. Gyongyi and Foshan have witnessed RMB 120 per tonne hike in the prices resulting in RMB 20,010 per tonne and RMB 19,870 per tonne, respectively. Primary aluminium ingot price in Linyi has escalated by RMB 140 per tonne to come in at RMB 20,010 per tonne, while the price in Chongqing has increased by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,920 per tonne. The price in Wuxi has been boosted by RMB 130 per tonne, amounting to RMB 19,860 per tonne. In the Chinese province of Tianjin, the primary aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 90 per tonne, stopping at RMB 19,840 per tonne. Lastly, the ingot price in Shenyang has risen by RMB 60 per tonne to record at RMB 19,840 per tonne.

According to the data shown by SMM, the price of low carbon aluminium has built-up by RMB 122 per tonne to stop at RMB 20,486 per tonne on June 21.

In China, the high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and the high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have expanded by RMB 100 per tonne to rest at RMB 27,900 per tonne and RMB 28,900 per tonne, respectively.  

Due to the hike in primary aluminium ingot prices, aluminium alloy (A356) price has shot up by RMB 150 per tonne to close at RMB 20,900 per tonne as of June 21. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 20,800 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne, says SMM. However, the aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have not shown any change today from RMB 20,000 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne.

Among primary aluminium input costs, the aluminium powder price in China has gained RM 0.05 per kg to settle at RMB 21.60 per kg. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 21.50 per kg and 21.70 per kg.
