China’s A00 aluminium ingot price marks new week with a drop of RMB10/t, but remains W-o-W higher by 2%

According to the Shanghai Metals Market survey, A00 aluminium ingot price has opened this week on Monday, September 25, with a marginal drop of RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,730 per tonne. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 19,710 per tonne and RMB 19,750 per tonne, with a spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 200-240 per tonne.

Owing to the growing trend last week, A00 aluminium ingot price has edged a hike of 1.81 per cent at the beginning of the week from RMB 19,380 per tonne.

In Foshan and Tianjin, A00 aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 30 per tonne to start the week at RMB 19,460 per tonne and RMB 19,730 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Gongyi has settled at RMB 19,620 per tonne, and that in Wuxi and Hangzhou at RMB 19,730 per tonne after experiencing a drop of RMB 10 per tonne.

On the other hand, Chongqing and Linyi have witnessed a rise of RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 19,630 per tonne and RMB 19,750 per tonne, while the price in Shenyang has remained muted at RMB 19,660 per tonne.

SMM data also shows that aluminium alloys prices have remained restrained over the weekend across the country. While aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has continued at RMB 19,750 per tonne, aluminium alloy (A356) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have remained at RMB 20,400 per tonne and RMB 20,750 per tonne.

The primary aluminium’s inputs prices have also recorded a restraint throughout China on September 25. Thus, the average alumina spot price continues to stand at RMB 2,946 per tonne, caustic soda price at RMB 1,055 per tonne, prebaked anode price at RMB 5,762.50 per tonne, and aluminium powder price at RMB 21.7 per kg.
