On September 21, the Shanghai Metals Market witnessed mixed trends in aluminium prices all over China, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price augmenting by RMB 160 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,650 per tonne. The average prices have ranged between RMB 19,630 per tonne and RMB 19,670 per tonne.
{alcircleadd}If we consider the aluminium price on June 21, 2023, it can be witnessed that there has been a Quarter-on-Quarter spike of RMB 820 per tonne or 4.17 per cent to reach the level today.
China’s eight major provinces all have experienced levitating aluminium prices, other than Shenyang, where the aluminium price shed RMB 10 per tonne to close at RMB 19,440 per tonne. In Tianjin, the aluminium A00 aluminium ingot price has increased the highest by RMB 190 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,670 per tonne. Again, in Hangzhou and Linyi, the aluminium prices have seen a stark escalation of RMB 160 per tonne, with both places recording an official price of RMB 19,650 per tonne. In Wuxi, too, the aluminium price is locked at a similar range as Hangzhou and Linyi, with a loss of RMB 140 per tonne, like Chongqing, which catalogued a price of RMB 19,530 per tonne. In Foshan, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dropped RMB 150 per tonne to localise at RMB 19,400 per tonne. Lastly, in Gongyi, the aluminium price stooped down to RMB 19,540 per tonne, with a fall of RMB 130 per tonne.
The low-carbon aluminium price in China has floated up by RMB 145 per tonne, halting at RMB 20,176 per tonne.
The high-purity aluminium price (99.99%) and the high-purity aluminium price (99.996%) have both skyrocketed by RMB 200 per tonne to officially close at RMB 27,100 per tonne and RMB 28,100 per tonne.
The average alumina spot price in China has surged by RMB 4 per tonne to close at RMB 2,941 per tonne, while the alumina price in Shanxi has gained RMB 10 per tonne to officiate at RMB 2,960 per tonne. In Guangxi, the alumina price has gathered RMB 5 per tonne to settle at RMB 2,945 per tonne.
The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and the price of aluminium alloy (A360) have seen an equal hike of RMB 150 per tonne, finally resting at RMB 20,300 per tonne and RMB 20,550 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has risen by RMB 100 per tonne to close at RMB 19,750 per tonne.
China’s aluminium powder price has seen an influx of RMB 0.20 per kg, with the price stopping at RMB 21.60 per kg and the average prices hovering between RMB 21.50 per kg to RMB 21.70 per kg.
