
A00 aluminium ingot price in China has recorded the highest downfall of January 2021 and the second-highest since the fall of RMB 430 per tonne on December 21, as of Tuesday, January 12. According to Shanghai Metals Market data, the price has plunged by RMB 350 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,050 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,030 per tonne and RMB 15,070 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 20 per tonne, down by RMB 40 per tonne from the previous day.

Foshan has witnessed the highest fall of RMB 400 per tonne on January 12 to come in at RMB 15,050 per tonne, followed by the decline of RMB 380 per tonne in Chongqing to clock at RMB 15,020 per tonne. In Gongyi, A00 aluminium ingot price has reduced by RMB 360 per tonne to RMB 14,940 per tonne, while in Shenyang and Wuxi, the price slid by RMB 350 per tonne and RMB 330 per tonne to hover at RMB 15,070 per tonne and RMB 15,000 per tonne, respectively. In Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Linyi, the primary aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 320 per tonne, RMB 310 per tonne, and RMB 300 per tonne to stand, respectively, at RMB 15,080 per tonne, RMB 15,010 per tonne, and RMB 15,160 per tonne.
Among the input costs, prebaked anode price in Southwest and Northwest China has gained RMB 65 per tonne and RMB 90 per tonne to peg at RMB 3,915 per tonne and RMB 3772.50 per tonne, respectively, as of January 12, 2021.
Alumina spot price in Shandong has grown by RMB 10 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,350 per tonne, with average prices expected to range between RMB 2,330 per tonne and RMB 2,370 per tonne. Imported alumina price and Australian alumina FOB price have, however, remained muted today at RMB 2,460 per tonne and US$ 360 per tonne.
Backed on the decline in A00 aluminium ingot price, aluminium alloy (A356) price has contracted by RMB 350 per tonne to stand at RMB 5,750 per tonne on Tuesday, January 12. The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have reduced relatively slower by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 16,800 per tonne and RMB 17,700 per tonne, respectively.
