China's A00 aluminium ingot price contracts by RMB120/t, reverting to the previous week's level

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, China’s domestic A00 aluminium ingot price again decreased by RMB 120 per tonne on Tuesday, June 5, following an intermittent increase of RMB 100 per tonne on the previous day after two consecutive days of downfall.

With the latest fall, the domestic A00 aluminium ingot price is at the same level as the prior week, reaching RMB 21,070 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 21,050 per tonne and RMB 21,090 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a discount price of RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 70 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price in Shenyang has plunged by RMB 150 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,000 per tonne, followed by the downfall of RMB 120 per tonne in Hangzhou to RMB 21,070 per tonne and RMB 110 per tonne in Gongyi, Foshan, Wuxi, Chongqing, and Tianjin to RMB 21,010 per tonne, RMB 20,980 per tonne, RMB 21,090 per tonne, RMB 21,030 per tonne, and RMB 21,090 per tonne, respectively.

The domestic low-carbon aluminium price has dwindled by RMB 85 per tonne on June 5 to reach RMB 21,975 per tonne, showed SMM.

Aluminium alloy prices

In tandem with A00 aluminium ingot price fall, aluminium alloy prices have witnessed a decline across China. While aluminium alloy (A360) price has diminished by RMB 150 per tonne to RMB 21,850 per tonne, with average prices to range between RMB 21,750-21,950 per tonne, aluminium alloy (A356) price has shrunk by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 21,600 per tonne, with average prices to hover around RMB 21,400-21,800 per tonne.

Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have slipped by RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,500 per tonne and RMB 21,500 per tonne, respectively, as of June 5.

Input costs

Among primary aluminium input costs, aluminium powder price has dipped by RMB 1 per tonne, following an increase on the previous day. According to SMM, the price has come in at RMB 23.8 per kg, with average prices to grow between RMB 23.7-23.9 per kg.
