Bauxite Residue Valorisation and Best Practices Conference to focus on red mud as a high value resource


The conference will take place inside the KU Leuven campus, in the old Thermotechnical Institute that consists of an auditorium and a museum hall displaying historical engines. The conference will host a number of invited lectures but the floor will be given to all poster presenters for a short presentation as well. Tentatively, symposium structure will consist of keynote presentations (40 minutes), oral presentations (20 minutes) and oral presentations of posters (3 minutes). The symposium dinner will take place in the Faculty Club. Finally, the conference will close with an open discussion on the important findings, messages-to-take-home and further actions, whereas an award will be given to the best presentation. The conference hopes to find ways in transforming bauxite residue into a valuable raw material in a professional and commercially viable manner.
