Enter your input
Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.
Usage Procedure – How to use the CBAM Calculator Sheet
Enter or update values only in the
INPUT PARAMETERS section (Highlighted in blue) ,
including the carbon price, benchmark emissions, CBAM chargeable
percentage (as per the phase-in year), and imported quantity.
The system will automatically calculate the
payable emissions and the total CBAM cost (€)
based on the inputs provided.
Notes:
• Change any input value to automatically update CBAM cost.
• Formula used: Carbon price × payable emissions × quantity.
• Model aligned with CBAM supplier-side illustrative methodology.

Bauxite Residue Valorisation and Best Practices Conference to focus on red mud as a high value resource
2MINS READ
Bauxite residue is a resource, a material that can be valorized. The current practices for bauxite residue utilization in some parts of the world need reconsideration and revision. KU Leuven and REDMUD Organization together are organizing a conference keeping the bauxite residue utilization in perspective.
The conference on “Bauxite Residue Valorisation and Best Practices” will take place in Leuven from 5 - 7 October 2015. The goal of the conference is to attract a number of researchers around the world and promote the most realistic and scientifically sound solutions for bauxite residue valorization. The conference will welcome ideas that are novel and exciting, in the framework of industrial symbiosis and which can exploit the potential of Bauxite Residue as a secondary resource.
The conference will take place inside the KU Leuven campus, in the old Thermotechnical Institute that consists of an auditorium and a museum hall displaying historical engines. The conference will host a number of invited lectures but the floor will be given to all poster presenters for a short presentation as well. Tentatively, symposium structure will consist of keynote presentations (40 minutes), oral presentations (20 minutes) and oral presentations of posters (3 minutes). The symposium dinner will take place in the Faculty Club. Finally, the conference will close with an open discussion on the important findings, messages-to-take-home and further actions, whereas an award will be given to the best presentation. The conference hopes to find ways in transforming bauxite residue into a valuable raw material in a professional and commercially viable manner.
