
After remaining restrained at RMB 2,302 per tonne during August 19-20, the average alumina spot price has recorded an increase of RMB 16 per tonne today, on August 21, for the second consecutive day, to stand at RMB 2,330 per tonne according to the Shanghai Metals Market.

In the central and north, the alumina price has also come in at RMB 2,330 per tonne after growing by RMB 20 per tonne on August 21. The price in the East has inched up by RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 2,305 per tonne, while that in the south has remained muted at RMB 2,520 per tonne.
The Australian alumina FOB price has jumped by US$ 17 per tonne to stand at US$ 288 per tonne, while the imported alumina price, on the other hand, has remained unchanged at RMB 2,300 per tonne.
The A00 aluminium ingot price has continued to grow for the fourth day in a row, although slower than the previous day, by RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 14,840 per tonne, found SMM. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,820 per tonne and RMB 14,860 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 50-90 per tonne.

Except in Shenyang, where the primary aluminium ingot price has fallen by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 14,795 per tonne, the price in all other major Chinese cities have grown by RMB 70-30 per tonne. In Foshan and Chongqing, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 14,820 per tonne and RMB 14,740 per tonne, while in Hangzhou has climbed up by RMB 45 per tonne to RMB 14,820 per tonne. In Wuxi, Tianjin, and Gongyi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,810 per tonne, RMB 14,770 per tonne, and RMB 14,680 per tonne, respectively. In Linyi, on the other hand, the price is standing at RMB 14,780 per tonne after growing by RMB 30 per tonne.
Backed on the hike in A00 aluminium ingot price, the aluminium alloy (A356) price has also expanded by RMB 50 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,450 per tonne. However, the prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have remained restrained at RMB 14,000 per tonne and RMB 14,900 per tonne, respectively.
