
The average alumina spot price has extended its decline further by RMB 26 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,146 per tonne, as of Thursday, April 9, found Shanghai Metals Market. This marks the sixth consecutive fall this month, bringing the average alumina spot price down by RMB 429 per tonne over the past one month.

In the north, the average alumina price has declined by RMB 35 per tonne to RMB 2,130 per tonne, followed by the central and east by RMB 20 per tonne and RMB 15 per tonne to RMB 2,160 per tonne and RMB 2,150 per tonne, respectively. In the south, however, the price has continued to remain restrained at RMB 2,520 per tonne.
The imported alumina price has recorded a fall as well by RMB 25 per tonne to RMB 2,175 per tonne. The Australian Alumina FOB price has slipped by US$ 6 per tonne to US$ 225 per tonne.
The A00 aluminium ingot price, on the other hand, has registered a growth of RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 11,610 per tonne, followed by a decline of RMB 70 per tonne on the previous day, according to SMM data. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 11,590 per tonne and RMB 11,630 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a discount and premium price of RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 10 per tonne.

Wuxi has seen the highest rise today of RMB 60 per tonne, followed by Tianjin, Gongyi, and Hangzhou of RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 45 per tonne, respectively. In Foshan, Chongqing, and Linyi, the price of A00 aluminium ingot has grown by RMB 40 per tonne, while that in Shenyang by RMB 35 per tonne.
The prices of aluminium alloys have recorded no change. The aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has remained restrained at RMB 13,850 per tonne, and that of aluminium alloy (A380) and aluminium alloy (A356) at RMB 14,750 per tonne and RMB 12,300 per tonne, respectively.
