Alumina price stands lower at RMB 2172/t; A00 aluminium price drops after two days of rise

The average spot alumina price stands at RMB 2172 per tonne on Wednesday, 08 April 2020, a decrease of RMB 33 per tonne or 1.50 per cent from RMB 2205 per tonne on April 7. The alumina prices in China have decreased in all major markets, except South.

The average prices of Alumina-East and Alumina-Central have reduced by RMB 35 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 2165 per tonne and RMB 2180 per tonne. Their average prices are expected to range at RMB 2150-2180 per tonne and RMB 2160-2200 per tonne. The price in North stands at RMB 2165 per tonne, down RMB 30 per tonne. South China markets remain unchanged at RMB 2520 per tonne.

After a continuous rise for the past two days in a row, A00 aluminium ingot price has declined by RMB 70 per tonne from its earlier price to RMB11640 per tonne on April 8. The price now stands at RMB11570 per tonne. The price is expected to move within a range of RMB 11550-11590 per tonne. Spot aluminium price is likely to be traded at a discount of RMB 30 per tonne to a premium of RMB 10 per tonne.

Aluminium ingot prices in Foshan and Wuxi stand at RMB 11590 per tonne and RMB 11550 per tonne, down RMB 80 per tonne and RMB 90 per tonne. The prices in Hangzhou, Chongqing, Shenyang, Tianjin, Linyi, and Gongyi have reduced to stand at RMB 11575 per tonne, RMB 11590 per tonne, RMB 11640 per tonne, RMB 11580 per tonne, RMB 11730 per tonne and RMB 11580 per tonne.

The aluminium alloy (A356) price is also down by RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 12300 per tonne on Wednesday, 08 April 2020.
