
China aluminium prices are struggling to stay up in the face of higher inventory and lower raw material prices. After registering a slight drop yesterday, Average A00 ingot price increases today to stand at RMB 14,770 per tonne and expected to move within a range of RMB 14,750-14,790.
According to SMM, SHFE aluminium is expected to trade just below the five-day moving average at RMB 15,050-15,220 per tonne. Spot discount is set to shrink to RMB 220-180/t. Aluminium ingot prices in all individual markets in China have registered a substantial increase. The following table shows the growth in ingot price in the domestic markets:

Average prices of aluminium alloys have registered an increase in all markets today following the rising A00 ingot price. Average Aluminum Alloys (ADC12) price stands at RMB 16200 per tonne. Aluminium Alloy (A356) prices increased to RMB 15,450 per tonne, however, Aluminium Alloy (A380) prices have increased to RMB 16,950 per tonne.
Spot Alumina price in South China market has registered a drop to stand at RMB 2890/t. Average spot alumina price in China has dropped slightly to RMB 2857/t. Chalco and imported alumina prices remain unchanged. Domestic bauxite prices and imported bauxite price CIF China remain unchanged. Prebaked anode remains unchanged after yesterday’s drop.
