On November 15, 2021, Century Aluminium Company (NASDAQ: CENX) stated that Norurál Grundartangi ehf ("Norurál"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Century Aluminium Company (NASDAQ: CENX), and Qair, an independent renewable power producer, have signed a letter of intent for the supply of green electricity to the Grundartangi smelter originating from two of Qair's windfarms with a total installed capacity of 200 MW under development in Iceland. Residents in Kurri Kurri, Hunter, are being advised to keep their windows and doors shut as firefighters work to put out a big industrial fire. The fire at the Weston Aluminium site began on Sunday morning and continued throughout the day and into the night, sending huge plumes of black smoke over the town. On Saturday, November 6, Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) successfully concluded the 25th Cycle of the ‘Can Collection Drive (CCD)’. According to the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), aluminium billet inventories in China descended by 24,500 tonnes week-on-week across five major consumption areas. As a result, the inventories totalled at 138,300 tonnes on Thursday, November 4.
