China’s domestic A00 aluminium ingot price declines over the weekend below RMB18500/t
A00 aluminium ingot price in China has decreased over the weekend ending Monday, June 5, following two consecutive hikes on June 1 and June 2. According to the Shanghai Metals Market data, the ingot price has slumped by RMB 160 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,410 per tonne but stands higher week-on-week by RMB 50 per tonne. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 18,390 per tonne and RMB 18,430 per tonne, with a spot contract to trade at a discount price of RMB 20 per tonne and a premium price of RMB 20 per tonne. Primary aluminium output in Russia & Eastern Europe drops 1.5% Y-o-Y during January-April’23
According to the International Aluminium Institute, primary aluminium production in Russia & Eastern Europe stood at 329,000 tonnes during April 2023, bringing the total output in the first four months to 1.326 million tonnes. The output in April’23 reflected a month-on-month downfall of 4.08 per cent or 14,000 tonnes from 343,000 tonnes and a year-on-year drop of 2.92 per cent or 10,000 tonnes from 333,000 tonnes. The production during January-April 2023 also edged a fall of 1.49 per cent from 1.346 million tonnes a year ago, in line with the monthly and annual decline during April’23. Shandong Nanshan Aluminium, a China-based aluminium company specialised in producing and distributing aluminium products, ordered a new cold rolling mill with Primetals Technologies in March 2023. The mill, featuring UCM technology, would be installed at Shandong’s aluminium plant in Longkou, Shandong province, east China. Big Agnes to use recycled aluminium in tent pole sets
Big Agnes, light-weight sleeping bags, tents, and sleeping pads manufacturer, in partnership with DAC, tent poles manufacturer, will reportedly use the first-of-its-kind DAC E1 recycled tent pole hub made of 25 per cent to 30 per cent of post-consumer recycled aluminium. Aumina output in Africa & Asia trends up 1.4% M-o-M during April’23, but shrinks Y-o-Y to 1.08 MT
Alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) amounted to 1.08 million tonnes during April 2023, reflecting an increase of 1.41 per cent month-on-month, found the International Aluminium Institute. In March, the output was at 1.065 million tonnes after a fall of 3.10 per cent from 1.033 million tonnes. On a year-on-year calculation, Africa & Asia (ex-China)’s alumina production during April’23 decreased by 8.4 per cent from 1.179 million tonnes. In April 2023, Africa & Asia (ex-China)’s daily average output of alumina stood at 36,000 tonnes, up by 4.65 per cent M-o-M from 34,400 tonnes and down by 8.40 per cent Y-o-Y from 39,300 tonnes. MAAN Aluminium posts robust net sales of INR 262.87 crore for Q4FY2023
On Tuesday, May 30, MAAN Aluminium, one of the pioneers in the aluminium extrusion industry in India, announced its financial results for the March quarter of 2023, whereby it reported net sales of INR 262.87 crore, up by 38.63 per cent quarter-on-quarter from INR 189.62 crore . On a year-on-year basis, the company’s net sales in Q4 FY2023 recorded a 103.78 per cent surge from INR 129 crore. Aluminium prices of Hindalco, Vedanta & NALCO recorded sluggish last week during May 23-25
At the beginning of the last week, aluminium prices of Indian giants like Hindalco and Vedanta trended downwards in line with the LME aluminium price drop but increased later as the global benchmark price speared up. On Tuesday, May 23, Hindalco cut its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices by INR 3,750 per tonne or 1.6 per cent, bringing the ingot price to INR 220,000 per tonne. World alumina output in April’23 drops 2.5% Y-o-Y despite the production rise in China
According to the International Aluminium Institute, world alumina production during April 2023 edged a fall of 3.32 per cent month-on-month to stand at 11.235 million tonnes. In March, the output stood at 11.621 million tonnes, reflecting a hike of 12.48 per cent from 10.331 million tonnes in February. On a year-on-year calculation, world alumina output in April recorded a decline of 2.49 per cent from 11.522 million tonnes. The world average daily output in April’23 was 374,500 tonnes, slightly down by 400 tonnes from 374,900 tonnes in March. The Team AL Circle is deeply saddened by the demise of Mr Bhavani Shankar Pani, a member of Utkal Chamber of Commerce (UCC), and former DGM (Technical) of NALCO.
