Alba welcomes potential partnership with Egypt to explore bauxite production and overall aluminium market

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, said they would like to strengthen relationships with key aluminium producers in the Arab World at a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Public Enterprises Sector, His Excellency Dr Eng. Mahmood Kamal Esmat, on May 24, 2023, in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting was graced by the presence of Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali; the Managing Director of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, Eng. Mohammed Al-Saadawi; and the Chief Executive Officer of Egyptalum, Dr Mahmoud Agour. The agenda of the meeting was developing mutual cooperation and exploring potential opportunities for investment in the aluminium industry.
Alba’s Chairman, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman, acknowledged the investment opportunities available in Egypt and welcomed a potential partnership between Alba and the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company to conduct a feasibility study of bauxite production as a primary raw material.
The Egyptian Minister of Public Enterprises Sector, His Excellency Dr Eng. Mahmood Kamal Esmat, also admired the deep-rooted bilateral relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain and expressed his intention to have broader economic ties between Egypt and Bahrain.
