Australian alumina FOB price ascends by US$15/t; China’s domestic A00 aluminium price levitates by RMB120/t

Today, the alumina spot price in China has witnessed an RMB 2 per tonne rise, closing at RMB 2,932 per tonne, while the alumina price in Henan and Guangxi have both seen an increase of RMB 15 per tonne to halt at RMB 2,980 per tonne and RMB 2,880 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has soared by US$15 per tonne, officially closing at US$345 per tonne. The FOB price was at a constant low for the month of December and this can be considered a sudden growth.
A00 aluminium ingot price has shot up by RMB 120 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,230 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on Thursday, January 12. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,210 per tonne and RMB 18,250 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne.
The eight provinces in China have shown upward trajectories today, with the aluminium price rising the highest in Foshan by RMB 150 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,300 per tonne. In Wuxi and Chongqing, the price of aluminium has escalated by RMB 140 per tonne, settling at RMB 18,245 per tonne and RMB 18,320 per tonne, respectively. The aluminium price in Gongyi has floated up by RMB 120 per tonne arriving at RMB 18,080 per tonne, while in Tianjin, the price soared by RMB 115 per tonne, residing at RMB 18,240 per tonne. In Hangzhou, the aluminium price has gained RMB 110 per tonne to close at RMB 18,250 per tonne. The price of aluminium in Shenyang has seen an RMB 95 per tonne hike, stopping at RMB 18,250 per tonne. Lastly, in Linyi, the aluminium price has elevated by RMB 80 per tonne settling down at RMB 18,240 per tonne.
In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has seen a hike of RMB 148 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,880 per tonne on Thursday, January 12.
The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have both escalated by RMB 100 per tonne coming in at RMB 26,200 per tonne and RMB 27,200 per tonne.
The price of aluminium alloy (A356), aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have all seen a uniform surge of RMB 100 per tonne, closing at RMB 19,350 per tonne, RMB 19,400 per tonne and RMB 20,400 per tonne.
The price of aluminium powder in China has marked an addition of RMB 0.10 per kg, stopping at RMB 19.90 per tonne, with the average price ranging between RMB 19.80 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne.
