Apparent consumption in U.S. and Canada markets dropped 4.4 per cent in July 2016

<p>According to the Preliminary estimates from Aluminum Association, aluminium demand in the United States and Canada that includes shipments by domestic producers plus imports were an estimated 15,360 million pounds during January to July 2016, an increase of 1.2 per cent over the same period last year. Demand for semi-fabricated or mill products dropped slightly YTD to 10,833 million pounds. <br /><br /><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/alu%20demand.jpg" alt="News" /><br />Apparent consumption (demand minus exports) in domestic markets totalled an estimated 13,494 million pounds during January to July 2016. U.S. and Canada exported (excluding cross-border trade) 1,866 million pounds of aluminium ingot and mill products during January to July 2016 which recorded a 12.5 per cent increase over the same period last year. Compared to export, imports were up 21.4 per cent to 4,324 million pounds during the first seven months of 2016.<br /><br />{googleAdsense}<br /><br />For the month of July, aluminium semi-fabricated (mill) product demands in the U.S. and Canada totalled an estimated 1,522 million pounds, down 3.7 per cent over July 2015. Demand for aluminium sheet and plate were down 2.2 per cent to 846 million pounds. Extruded products were off 5.9 per cent YOY to 442 million pounds. Apparent consumption in domestic U.S. and Canada markets dropped 4.4 per cent YOY to 1,772 million pounds in July from July 2015 total of 1,853 million pounds.<br /><br />&nbsp;</p>
