A Supervisory Board meeting of the primary aluminium, secondary aluminium and cast and rolled products manufacturer and supplier, AMAG Austria Metall AG, held on March 5, 2026, brought about the announcement of a leadership transition. AMAG confirmed that the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Helmut Kaufmann, having fulfilled the role for nearly 19 years, will step down from the Management Board on April 30, 2026. The decision was made to ensure a structured CEO succession and long-term management continuity.

Effective from May 1, 2026, the current Chief Sales Officer Victor Breguncci will take over the role, whose appointment as the CEO is scheduled to run till May 31, 2029. Breguncci has served on the Management Board since 2019. His succession is expected to bring about extensive international experience across the company’s business segments.

Simultaneous to the CEO transition, Claudia Trampitsch will continue as Chief Financial Officer, with her mandate extended ahead of schedule for another three years until December 31, 2029. Having previously led the Group’s Accounting and Tax division for several years, Trampitsch has been holding the CFO post since January 2024.

Additionally, the current Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, Alexander Moser‑Parapatits, is set to join the Management Board as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer (CSIO) from May 1, 2026. His initial term is scheduled till April 2029.

Alessandro Dazza, Supervisory Board Chairman, commented on the transition, acknowledging Kaufmann’s contribution to the company’s evolution. “With Helmut Kaufmann, a highly experienced executive, [leaving] AMAG after almost two decades… he has significantly shaped AMAG, contributed decisively to its strategic development and advanced the Group towards technological leadership,” he noted.  

Highlighting the objective of the appointments as smooth leadership handover while maintaining continuity, Dazza explained, “With the appointment of Victor Breguncci as CEO, the reappointment of Claudia Trampitsch as CFO and the appointment of Alexander Moser-Parapatits as CSIO, we are able to ensure a seamless generational transition and stability within the Management Board.”

Reflecting on his nearly two-decade tenure, Kaufmann expressed gratitude to the organisation for their steady collaboration. “I would like to thank the entire workforce, my fellow Management Board members and the Supervisory Board for the excellent cooperation and for what we have achieved together…I wish the new Management Board team and the entire company all the best and every success for the future,” he observed.

Succeeding CEO Breguncci emphasised continuity and growth as the company moves forward. He mentioned, “Together with our team, we will build on the company’s strong foundations and continue its successful development… while strengthening our sales activities to unlock new markets and applications.”

Following these changes, the Management Board of AMAG will consist of Victor Breguncci (CEO), Claudia Trampitsch (CFO), and Alexander Moser-Parapatits (CSIO) from May 2026.
