Aluminum Deox prices unlikely to move in September

Deox producers told AMM that September prices appeared unlikely to move from a range of 95 to 97 cents per pound.
“The mills want to buy 2 to 3 cents cheaper, but the question is: Does anybody want to sell at two to three cents cheaper?" one producer said. "We see nothing to indicate that it will not be the same.”
The producer added that the ongoing decline in A380.1 prices since July may have nonetheless encouraged some consumers to push for a similar drop in deox prices.
A380.1 spot prices have fallen to between 97 and 98 cents per pound from between $1 and $1.02 per pound at in early July.
A second producer said that the steady cost of aluminum scrap was also likely to keep deox prices stable, describing a deox sale of 94 cents per pound as "a dead loss" when considering raw material costs.
These guys will lose 2 cents a pound on everything they ship if they sell at 92 cents per pound," he said.
He added that he expects demand to be "similar to the volumes of last month.
