ALRO renews business relations in the North American market with a series of contracts

According to Florin Verboncu, General Director of Vimetco Trading, "The prospects for 2025 are optimistic. We already have contracts, especially for the North American area. The North American market has been a more difficult target in recent years for several reasons: the high cost of transportation, the competition from China and other very competitive areas."

Chinese manufacturers dominated this market for years. However, being a well-known manufacturer on the continent, ALRO started to renew its acquaintance with its former clients.

The disclosure came amidst Aluminium 2024, held in Dusseldorf, Germany, where over 800 exhibitors and partners from 50 countries participated.

"The American market is going well now, and for the first quarter of next year, we already have contracted orders, which we will deliver starting in January. We have potential that we can capitalise on. We already have orders, generally in the area of flat products, in the USA, Canada and Mexico," added Verboncu.

ALRO, earlier in the expo, confirmed that its carbon footprint has reached beneath the average level in Europe. The company even stated that it feels optimistic ahead of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to be imposed by Europe targeting imports of carbon-intensive goods, including aluminium.

Adding to the business now, the official has stated, "The entire North American market is starting to show signs of awakening, and for European producers, obviously, we are not the only ones selling there. But the American market for us was, historically speaking, a large market, representing before the pandemic, in 2019, approximately 10 per cent of the total sales of flat products. As a target, we are trying to gradually approach the 10 per cent."
