

The Aluminium Federation (ALFED) has rolled out a refreshed version of its Aluminium Light Training Course. The update sharpens its focus on helping newcomers confidently navigate the UK aluminium industry at a time when skills awareness is becoming as critical as technical expertise.

Announcing the launch, ALFED confirmed that the half-day, in-person, entry-level programme is designed to provide a practical and accessible introduction to aluminium as a strategic industrial metal, particularly for new starters, non-technical staff and professionals transitioning into the sector.

Delivered at Bragborough Hall Business Centre, NN11 7JG, in Daventry, Northamptonshire, the Aluminium Light course breaks down complex industry concepts into clear, usable insights. Participants are introduced to the structure and scope of the UK aluminium industry, gain an understanding of primary and secondary aluminium production and processing, learn about key quality requirements and common defects, and explore the wide-ranging industrial applications of aluminium—from transport and construction to packaging and renewable energy.
