
On 16th September 2021, Alcomet, the leading manufacturer of aluminium rolled and extruded products in Bulgaria stated that it put into operation a new facility for processing of aluminium profiles following an investment of € 6.9 million.

Alcomet in a bourse filing stated that the new equipment will capacitate the company to manufacture aluminium components for electric cars.
The newly implemented facility layout on 4,100 sq. metres and engages 30 people. The aluminium company expects to recruit more employees there in the future.
The company said: “Presently, we are engaged in the prototype and pre-series production of the respective components under already agreed projects. However, serial production will start in 2022.”
“Such products can be used not only in the automotive industry but also in construction and architecture, mechanical engineering, renewable energy production and other sectors”, Alcomet added.
Alcomet launched a new aluminium profiles production facility in 2019 and said it is lining up to set foot in the automotive parts industry.
The metal company produces household, technical and container foil finstock, sheets and strips, as well as standard and customized profiles, while it exports over 90% of its output.
