Alcoa promotes its top leaders

Ed Hemmersbach, who previously served as the facility’s Location Manager for its packaging business unit at Warrick Operations, has been named the Vice President of Operations, Alcoa Global Packaging-North America.
Click here to find out more! In this expanded role, Hemmersbach will supervise all of the manufacturing processes at Warrick Operations and at Tennessee Operations.
Together, these two facilities provide flat-rolled aluminum sheet to global customers who use Alcoa’s metal to produce cans for the food and beverage industry.
Warrick Operations also manufactures aluminum used by customers to create lithographic printing plates. It is the nation’s only supplier of this specific type of high-quality metal. Tennessee Operations, located in Alcoa, Tenn., produces aluminum used in the production of beverage cans.
Hemmersbach, 47, began his Alcoa career in 2001 after years of supervisory and leadership positions with Commonwealth Aluminum. During his time with Alcoa, he has held multiple management positions at Warrick Operations.
Hemmersbach earned his bachelor’s degree from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute and he has participated in executive education at Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business and at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Reporting to Hemmersbach at Warrick Operations will be Jeff Boris. Boris, who previously served as the manager of Warrick’s Rolling Division, has been named Manufacturing Manager at Warrick Operations for Alcoa Global Packaging. Boris supervises the various departments within Alcoa’s packaging business unit at Warrick Operations, including Ingot, Rolling, Finishing, Quality and Central Services.
Boris, 48, began his career at Alcoa Warrick Operations in 1986 after earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has held numerous engineering, supervisory and management roles at Warrick Operations during his career.
Brent Johnson has been named the new Rolling Division Manager, filling Boris’ former role. Johnson, 52, was most recently the Production Planning and Transportation Manager. He started at Warrick Operations in 1985 in the Physical Testing Lab after earning a bachelor’s of science in civil engineering technology from the University of Southern Indiana. He also earned a bachelor’s of science in industrial supervision from the same university. He, too, has held numerous roles at Warrick, including experience in production and technical supervision and customer service.
