Alba offers support to special needs centre

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)'s position as a strong corporate citizen that supports the well-being of young people with special needs was given a boost with the donation of BD10,000 towards Al Rahma Centre, an organisation that provides health, social, psychological, vocational and rehabilitative care in the form of regular day care to both children and young adults who are mentally and physically challenged.

The Chairman of Alba's Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji presented the cheque on Alba's behalf to the Chairman of Al Rahma Centre, Rasheed Al Me'araj during a meeting held recently at his office in the Central Bank of Bahrain.

Also present at the meeting were other senior officials from Al Rahma Centre.

Commenting on Alba's donation to Al Rahma Centre, the Chairman of Alba's Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, said, "For the past forty years, Alba has remained at the forefront of backing initiatives that strengthen the quality of life for every segment in Bahrain's community. Al Rahma Centre's effort in enriching the lives of young people with special needs is well-known, and we are proud of lending our support to this organisation. We wish them continued success in building a healthy future for Bahrain's young people with special needs."

The Riffa based Al Rahma Centre - which is part of the Bahrain Association for Mental Retardation - caters to more than 40 young people at a time, and provides comprehensive services and programmes at their purpose built premises in Riffa.
