A00 aluminium ingot price records a slump today backed on weakened alumina cost

According to the latest update from Shanghai Metals Market on September 12, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 120 per tonne to stand at RMB 14500 per tonne. As per the data found by SMM, the average expected price today is likely to range between RMB 14480 per tonne and RMB 14520 per tonne, with spot discounts to settle at RMB 20 per tonne, up by RMB 20 per tonne from the previous day.

In the east, the ingot price has registered a slump by RMB 110 per tonne to conclude at RMB 14505 per tonne while in the south and north, the prices are standing at RMB 14640 per tonne and RMB 14530 per tonne after dropping by RMB 130 per tonne and RMB 105 per tonne, respectively.

This dip in aluminium ingot price could be attributed to the weakened input cost as the average alumina price has recorded a fall by RMB 14 per tonne to hover at RMB 3307 per tonne.

But on the other hand, the average price of bauxite (6.0≤Al/Si＜7.0) in Shanxi has displayed a growth today at RMB 35 per tonne to clock at RMB 540 per tonne. The average price of bauxite (6.0≤Al/Si＜7.0) in Henan has also recorded a growth to RMB 540 per tonne.
