The Cameroon government agency, the National Institute of Statistics published a report which revealed that the country exported 14,925 tonnes of aluminium in H1-2021 compared to the 22,869 tonnes exported in 2020 during the same period. This shows a year-on-year decline of 34.70%. One of the main reasons for the decline of aluminium export by Cameroon was due to the financial trouble which ALUCAM was countering, while it is the only producer of aluminium in the CEMAC region. The economic activities in Cameroon are gaining momentum after the negative impact of the pandemic on the local and international business, but ALUCAM’s operations are still under the negative radar. The decline in the number of productions for Cameroon for H1-2021 was more prominent than what they witnessed in 2020,...

Rusal, a leading global aluminium producer, is mastering the production of aluminium cast pipes together with Lipetsk Pipe Company Svobodny Sokol. The quality of pipes is comparable to products made from conventional materials. The casting technology which Rusal uses makes it possible to produce pipes of up to 1 metre diameter and a length of up to 6 metres for the needs of housing and utility services, oil and gas production, as well as fire extinguishing. In the near future, Rusal plans to test its new high-strength alloy for housing and utility services, which will expectedly provide the same mechanical strength characteristics as steel and cast-iron pipes. The weight of aluminium pipes is three times lesser than cast iron analogues, owing to which, they are easy and cost-effective to...
